Thor Shipping & Transport is not directly affected by the strike among dockers in Sweden
The Swedish Hamnarbetarförbundet communicates strike
On January 20th the Swedish Docker Association declared their decision to encourage a strike (starting on January 23rd) among their members after failing in negotiations on union agreements. The strike will occur during shorter occasions between January 23rd and 28th, and involves their 1 300 port workers in Helsingborg, Sundsvall, Gävle, Malmö, Umeå, Söderhamn, Karlshamn, Stockholm and Göteborg (Ro/Ro). Piteå, Skellefteå and Luleå also pursue overtime-, employment- and renting restrictions starting on January 23rd until February 6th.
As of today, the ports in Västerås, Köping, Södertälje or Oxelösund are not affected by this strike, which means TST's operations run as they normally do. We monitor the situation and update our website if and when something changes. If you want to know more about the strike we recommend you to pay a visit to the Docker's association's website here.
